Alison Ross, LMFT, CEDS

Founder, Non-Dieting Health | NDH Therapy

Licensed Marriage & Family Psychotherapist,
Lic #48192
Certified Eating Disorder Therapist (CEDS)
Neurofeedback Practitioner

(She/Her)

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” - Anais Nin Alison is the founder of Non-Dieting Health, a licensed psychotherapist and a certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS). She is also a neurofeedback and bioregulation practitioner and an advocate for body-positive living. Her outpatient center offers therapeutic services to teens and adults struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADD, and ADHD. It also offers services for individuals seeking to improve their well-being and lead healthier lives, whether it's guidance during life transitions, relationship assistance, or career support. Alison views disordered eating patterns, along with the mental health challenges that frequently coincide with eating and body image struggles, as predictable responses to the pervasive influence of a highly-rewarding food environment and societal expectations to tightly control one's weight and appetite. When internalized, this conflict can lock people into reactionary mindsets about food and their bodies, which can impede their ability to regulate emotions, thinking, mood, sleep, appetite, and eating behavior. Alison empowers clients to shift from stressful and shame-based mindsets to developing body respect and nurturing their nutritional well-being. She guides them away from preoccupation with food and weight, towards a life of greater meaning and joy. Alison is the author of Non-Dieting: How to Love Your Body and Be Healthy in Diet Culture. Emily Rotenberg, RDN

Registered Dietitian

(She/Her)

As a registered dietitian, the focus of my practice is nutrition stabilization (consistent and adequate intake of a wide variety of foods) and to improve interoceptive awareness (the sense of knowing what is going on inside your body). This focus creates a foundation for me to support clients in decreasing their reliance on life interfering behaviors/patterns, to restore reliable hunger/fullness cues, and feel confident in their ability to meet their body's needs. Whether you are needing support in healing from an eating disorder, trying to stabilize disordered (hectic) eating patterns, or just looking for help to identify what nutrition advice to 'listen to,' I'm here to help. I work with individuals who are healing from: Anorexia Nervosa Bulimia Nervosa Binge Eating Disorder Other Specified Feeding Eating Disorder Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder Anxiety/ Depression Poor Body Image Chaotic Eating Patterns Low energy & Brain Fog Unreliable Hunger & Fullness Cues Dieting & Weight Obsession An Unhealthy Obsession with Being Healthy Picky Eating/Lack of food variety Excessive Exercise Patterns Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) To support this process, I utilize dietary informed therapeutic modalities such as: Dietary Informed Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Dietary Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Food Related Exposure Response and Prevention, and Dietary Informed Compassion Focused Therapy. I utilize motivational interviewing and client centered counseling techniques to untangle and explore clients' experiences with food, body, and movement. I use the following philosophies to inform my practice: Intuitive Eating, All Foods Fit, Health at Every Size, and Body Image Neutrality & Appreciation.
