Founder, Non-Dieting Health

Hi. I’m Alison Ross, founder of Non-Dieting Health in Agoura Hills, California. I’m a licensed psychotherapist and neurofeedback practitioner specializing in eating and body image. My favorite things are my family, my dogs, yoga and working with my clients.
I was barely a tween when I started to struggle with disordered eating and body image. My escalating struggles kept me at war with my body and food for years. In my upcoming book, I describe how difficult it is to grow confidently into the body and person we are meant to be in a world full of body-shaming messages, weight stigma, and diet culture. And I offer my experience of recovery and helping others to recover, along with loads of information and exercises to help you reclaim eating-enjoyment, a healthy body image and better health in mind and body.
Helping others get healthy is meaningful to me. Since I opened my practice over a decade ago, I have developed a therapeutic method that supports recovery from eating and body image struggles across the spectrum. I combine health-focused psychotherapy, mindful nourishment, a body-positive, weight-neutral approach, and neurofeedback brainwave training to help my clients recover from yo-yo dieting, bulimia, binge-eating disorder and anorexia. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you as you experience how good it feels to reclaim your friendship with food and your body.
In addition to eating and body image, I specialize in mood disorders, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief, transitions and relationships. Here are some of the highlights of my psychotherapy career:
