Free, Zoom Teen Group Session (ages 13-18)
When: Wednesday, August 3, 6-7pm Pacific Time
Who should attend: Open to all teens ages 13-18 (LGBTQ+ friendly). This free group is for teens who are interested in joining our teen support group, The Confident Self, but would like to try it first.
Facilitated by Anna Lei Sidorchuk, AMFT
Description: What is the connection between confidence and self-care? How can your confidence grow when you learn to understand your needs and boundaries? How can care for yourself improve your self-esteem? If you, or a teen you know, could use support to become more confident and connect with peers, join us to explore these questions and start developing your Confident Self.
This free event will allow you to experience our support group and decide if you want to join us on our four-month journey together in The Confident Self Support Group. Our group offers a safe, therapeutic community. Here, you'll find support to get to know yourself, connect with others, utilize self-care practices, build your strengths, and develop coping skills to help you deal with stressors. We will meet each week through the summer, preparing you to start school strong in the fall.
How do I know if this group is for me?
This free session allows you to experience the group yourself before you register. Designed for all teens ages 13-18, this group is for you if you want support to make new friends, feel happier, and be more comfortable in your own skin. We cover many topics, including body image, anxiety, dealing with friend struggles, eating, mood, identity, adjusting after the pandemic, and friend-making. Groups usually begin with a check-in or mindfulness practice before we do a project or engage in a discussion about the weekly topic.
Confidence is at the core of self-acceptance, which supports you in authentic self-expression, connection, resilience, and happiness. The journey to confidence is unique to each of us and happens in a relationship with supportive others. Having a safe and caring group can make all the difference in your experience.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you grow your confident self.
About the facilitator, Anna Sidorchuk, AMFT
Hi, my name is Anna Lei Sidorchuk, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working under the supervision of Alison Ross, LMFT. I specialize in healing childhood trauma, which is usually at the root of many mental health, body image, and eating struggles regardless of age. I approach therapy through the holistic and integrative lens that is trauma informed, compassionate and humanistic. Using evidence based modality CBT to address the thought process, DBT to support in building emotion regulation skills, Depth Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology to work with the psyche, energy healing through Reiki and Theta Healing, and mindfulness, Somatic Psychotherapy and CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) to support safety and regulation in the body, I integrate modalities to suit the unique needs of each client. I work with individuals, teens, couples, families and the LGBTQ+ community to heal mood disorders, anxiety, codependency, disordered eating, psychosomatic issues, life changes, and disconnection from joy and purpose. I am currently in the process of getting Sex and Relationship Therapy Certified.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I have been an energy healer and a transformational coach for 13 years, supporting people in accessing their true essence and finding their purpose. I have a lifelong passion for learning and you can usually find me with a book. I’m actually writing a book myself and hope to become a published author one day. I look forward to learning about you and supporting your healing journey.
