Description: Confidence starts with learning to take care of yourself. Self-care is not just how you pamper yourself on special occasions or regulate during a crisis but your ability to honor yourself, attune to your feelings, tend to your needs, and become your own best friend in daily life. In building a relationship with yourself, you can develop a healthy self-image, improve your relationship with food, and grow your happiness and confidence.
In this group, you will learn coping skills, mindfulness, emotion and mood regulation as you connect with others, do creative projects, and have enlightening discussions. It's a place to share your life, challenges, and growth as you develop your confident self.
Each week, we will focus on self-esteem, body image, social support, mindful eating, family issues, depression and anxiety, managing schoolwork, building a healthy mindset, exploring creativity, setting boundaries, and discovering what nourishes you. In a time of collective uncertainty, learning who you are, what you need, and how to best support yourself or ask for help can be life-changing.
How do I know if this group is for me?
Designed for all teens ages 13-18, this group is for you if you want support to make new friends, feel happier, and be more comfortable in your own skin. Groups usually begin with a check-in or mindfulness practice before we do a project or engage in a discussion about the weekly topic.
Our goal for this group is to develop self-compassion, self-respect and self-esteem that will lead to greater self-love and confidence. We will be going on a 4 month journey that will build upon itself but you are welcome to join at any time.
About the facilitator, Anna Sidorchuk, AMFT
Hi, my name is Anna Lei Sidorchuk, and I'm an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working under the supervision of Alison Ross, LMFT. I specialize in healing childhood trauma, which can be at the root of mental health, body image, and eating struggles regardless of age. I approach therapy through the holistic and integrative lens of trauma-informed, compassionate, and humanistic. Using evidence-based modality CBT to address the thought process, DBT to support in building emotion regulation skills, Depth Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology to work with the psyche, energy healing through Reiki and Theta Healing, and mindfulness, Somatic Psychotherapy and CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) to support safety and regulation in the body, I integrate modalities to suit the unique needs of each client. I work with individuals, teens, couples, families, and the LGBTQ+ community to heal mood disorders, anxiety, codependency, disordered eating, psychosomatic issues, life changes, and disconnection from joy and purpose. I am currently in the process of getting Sex and Relationship Therapy Certified.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I have been an energy healer and a transformational coach for 13 years, supporting people in accessing their true essence and finding their purpose. I have a lifelong passion for learning, and you can usually find me with a book. I'm writing a book myself and hope to become a published author.
I look forward to learning about you and supporting your healing journey.
