About Mindful Recovery Support Group:
Are you seeking a practice that can support your recovery? Curious about mindfulness but don't know where to start? Feeling like you are on auto-pilot and struggling to stay present? Overwhelmed by a busy mind? Craving more peace and balance in your life?
Come practice mindfulness with us!
Studies show that mindfulness can help reduce stress, increase awareness and concentration, foster self-care, improve coping strategies, and reduce emotional, thought, and behavior patterns that keep you stuck.
Mindfulness is a buzzword that we hear a lot these days, but many people are unsure of what it means and how to bring mindfulness into their lives. In this group, you will learn what mindfulness is and how to practice mindfulness meditation. We will explore how to apply mindfulness skills to your recovery process to help you find the grounding and balance that you crave. We will also cover the topics of mindful eating, body image, parenting, stress-reduction, trauma, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. Each week, we will start the group with a short 10-15 minute meditation and then take time to discuss our mindfulness journeys.
Dress comfortably and bring a notebook or journal for each session. Participation is limited. No experience is necessary. Facilitated by mindfulness specialist, Meredith Cashman, MSW. Have questions about the group? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
