Here's how you know you need help...

If your own mind wants to waterboard you for even thinking about eating a cookie...it's time to seek help for your eating disorder.

When I was struggling with an eating disorder, I had lots of excuses for why I didn't want therapy -

it cost too much,

it wasn't convenient,

it took too much time,

it meant I was "crazy",

the therapist would judge me or blame my parents, and on and on.

But in the end, the intense pain of self-abuse left me no choice. It's not normal if your own mind wants to waterboard you for even thinking about eating a cookie! It's a sign that you need support.

Getting a therapist was the best investment I ever made. It gave me confidence, and a healthy relationship with food, and changed my life for the better in every way. So don't wait. The sooner you start, the sooner you will experience the joy of self-reconciliation.
