Take it and Run!

I know that you can get validation by restricting your food and losing a little weight. But there's a risk to that behavior that not a lot of people talk about. Because the more you restrict your nutrition, the hungrier your brain gets. And that leads to disordered eating patterns, like emotional and binge eating.

While getting validation for restricting food and losing weight might be tempting, you could lose your sense of eating-control in the process. The answer to health and even a healthy weight for your body isn't restricting food, it's generously giving yourself the nutrition you need to fuel your life. And if that means you have a few extra pounds on your body, I say, it and take it and run! Because you could spare yourself the devastation of getting stuck in a disordered eating pattern.

P.S. My mentor Carolyn Costin, says "bigger body, bigger life." Such wise words from a person who recovered from an eating disorder herself and who has helped so many others take back the energy they spent worrying about their weight, and using it to live a bigger life!
